El Magatzem

El Magatzem aims to portray a mind with Alzheimer and its wandering nature. To do it, a character dressed in black is created, who represents the Thought and who explores different rooms which illustrates the mind and its recesses. Using its own body and its flexible condition, the Thought experiences multiple changes as it advances in space exploration.

During its journey, it goes through different emotional phases. These phases are produced by a very complex mix of feelings which appear as symptoms of the sickness. Having Alzheimer means a progressive loss of identity, with all that this entails.

Stirrings, Confusion, Clarity, Instability, Chaos, Relief, Perception, Cuddles and Farewell are the stops that the Thought and the spectator will find through this journey.

Alzheimer means that in any body capable of aging the adult construct may collapse, making the person an absolutely dependent and vulnerable being. This perspective is not intended to arouse alarm or compassion, but to raise awareness about their day-to-day condition, thus inviting reflection.

By questioning the lightness of our identity, as well as the mental structures that support our inner world, we can highlight the huge role played by a wide-ranging, conscious and empathetic network of support in facing change and mental transformation.

This is a small selection of some of the sequences from El Magatzem.
